Sometimes it seems logical to temporarily turn off your charging station—for example during a vacation, absence, or to save energy. However, we generally advise against this in most cases.
Why you should keep your charging station turned on
A charging station is more than just a device that charges your vehicle. It also plays a crucial role in the communication of your charging sessions.
When your charging station is active, charging sessions are automatically forwarded to our systems. This data is necessary to correctly process your consumption and – if applicable – reimburse you.
What happens if your charging station is turned off for too long?
If a charging station is offline for an extended period, this can affect the registration of your charging sessions:
- Older charging sessions remain locally stored in the charging station for a limited time
- Over time, this data may be lost or no longer correctly forwarded
- In that case, we can no longer process these sessions
The result: these charging sessions will not be eligible for reimbursement
Our advice
To ensure that all your charging sessions are correctly registered and reimbursed, we recommend keeping your charging station turned on as much as possible.
Do you still need to turn it off? Then try to keep this as short as possible and make sure the charging station reconnects to the network afterwards.
