Imagine you have solar panels, a home battery and an electric vehicle. You want to make the most of your self-generated energy and use your home battery efficiently when charging your car. For example:
Adjusting the charging power so your vehicle receives more energy when solar production is high, or less when other household appliances require power.
Fine-tuning settings so your home battery is used as efficiently as possible during charging.
Making full use of the smart features of your home automation system.
To do this, you — or an external application — need access to the charging station settings.
Please send us a ticket indicating your exact plans:
- Integrating your charging station into an EMS or home automation system to optimise interaction with solar panels or a home battery? If so, please also share the brand and model of the system.
- Controlling the charging station via an app (such as MyEve by Alfen)
- Or another specific use
1. Connection to EMS or home automation system
You do not usually need the password for your charging station to connect to an EMS or home automation system.
Our technical colleagues will adjust the settings of your charging station within 3 working days to enable integration with your EMS or home automation system.
As soon as you have completed the actual connection on your side, your EMS or home automation system will take full control of the load balancing. Until then, the charging station will automatically switch to a safety mode and charge at a significantly reduced speed.
Important requirements:
- The charging station and the EMS must be connected to the same network.
- The charging station must be connected to that network via a UTP data cable (Cat6). A Wi-Fi connection is not sufficient.
These conditions are essential to ensure stable and reliable communication between your charging station and your EMS or home automation system.
2. Connection to an app or for another use
In most cases, you will need the password for your charging station to access its settings yourself.
To do this, we first need your employer's consent. Once this has been obtained, we will also ask for your confirmation of the associated terms and conditions (see appendix at the bottom of this article).
What are the possible risks?
Functional issues: personal changes may slow down charging, cause error messages or alter expected behaviour, which can make support more complex.
Data consistency: deleting charging sessions may jeopardise reimbursement.
Loss of access and support: if you change the master password, MobilityPlus may temporarily lose the access required to assist you effectively.
What are the consequences of personal changes?
If issues occur, MobilityPlus can provide remote or on-site support. These interventions are not included in the maintenance contract and are therefore billable.
Incorrect adjustments may void your warranty.
Access to fast support may be limited until the original password is restored.
What should I do if I lose the password I set myself?
Contact MobilityPlus via this form to schedule a paid intervention. In many cases, the controllerboard may need to be replaced.
What are my responsibilities as an employee?
Only make changes if you fully understand what you are doing and the consequences.
Deleting charging sessions is strongly discouraged.
Do not change settings that could affect reimbursement of your home charging sessions.
Are interventions caused by personal changes free of charge?
No. MobilityPlus will restore the settings to the standard configuration. This intervention is billable, as it is not included in the maintenance contract.
