It depends on your car, the charging station and… on the other cars at the charging station.
Let’s take an example: you want to top up your battery with 60 kWh. At a fast-charging station with a maximum capacity of 120 kW, charging your EV will take half an hour (60 kWh / 120 kW = 0.5 h).
That’s the theory. Many charging stations do not reach their maximum capacity, especially if other cars are also charging. In general, you can say that the higher the maximum power, the faster you can charge.
Does it mean you waste more time? Of course not. Since you, too, need to ‘recharge’, if you combine your EV charging stop with your lunch break, you’ll get to your destination just as fast.
