In September 2023, Sibelga introduced new regulations for the installation of charge points in the Brussels Capital Region. For apartment blocks with more than three residential units, three parking spaces or three garages, the property manager or trustee will now have to provide a collective solution for the charge point infrastructure. This principle is perfectly in line with MobilityPlus’ vision for sustainable solutions.
Obligatory collective charging solution
In practice, this means that we can no longer install individual charge points in the situation above. It is the property manager or trustee who will assess the needs of the entire residential building and facilitate the selection of a partner for the collective charging solution. Visit Sibelga's website for full details.
Targeted inspections from 01/01/2025 onwards
Sibelga has informed us that targeted inspections may be held from 01/01/2025 onwards if they experience disruptions to their distribution network. If it turns out that the new technical regulations have not been adhered to, this may result in the charge point being disconnected. These new technical regulations apply to new charge points installed after 08/09/2023.
Preventative decision by MobilityPlus
Given this context and the possibility of inspections, MobilityPlus has decided not to provide any more individual charging solutions in the above situation from 01/02/2024 onwards.
